Beneath the Surface
The City of Austin is upgrading the storm water drain system in my neighborhood,
hence this 26-foot deep trench in front of my house, cut through solid limestone. The
workers are accustomed to my presence with a camera and accommodated my request to
drag some street barriers to the edge of this precipice so that I could photograph it.
